John Shields, Consulting Associate
John, CPG Consulting Associate and Principal and co-founder of MainStay Consulting Group, has more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry and specializes in growth and expanded distribution strategies for investment advisors, broker-dealers, insurance companies, banks, and service providers in the investment management industry. Earlier, John was managing director at Navigant Consulting, Inc., where he led the investment management consulting practice and oversaw all engagements for investment advisors, mutual fund complexes, and hedge funds clients, focusing on regulatory compliance. Before then, John served as CEO of Harris Insight Funds; CEO of Citizens Advisers and Citizens Funds; head of State Street Research Investment Services, a mutual fund distribution company; and head of consulting at Cerulli Associates. John also held several management positions at Fidelity Investments and began his career at Deloitte in New York.
